Luxury Dog Beds

When you think of “Luxury Dog Beds” you might not think of dog beds for travelling, but more of fluffy, padded and overly ornate dog beds. But in a way good travel dog beds are a luxury, because in reality a lot of dogs have to put up with less than comfortable travelling beds. A well padded, good quality travel dog bed is almost a rare luxury. Unfortunately I still see a lot of dogs travelling without dog beds in the back of the car. Some dogs have travelled a long way to attend a show, a shoot or other forms of work, where they are expected to give their best and yet their owner thinks they will be well rested if they have travelled on a mere towel thrown in to a hard base in a cage. It is not really fair and if the dog gets wet during the working day, it will be sitting on a wet towel that will feel cold and clammy for a long time, maybe for an overnight stay or the trip home. A damp, hard surface is really unacceptable as a dog bed. For being cooped up in a car, the dogs should be “compensated” by having nice, warm, comfortable and dry dog beds to sleep on.

If you are driving a car with a bit of draught, such as a pick-up, you might want to give your dogs a nest to protect them from the draught. I was driving somewhere in the winter and a friend jumped in to the cab with the dogs for a short journey on a farm road and he said it was very cold in there. Ever since then I have given my dogs little jumpers on while driving in the winter, but I had also left one of the windows open, so that didn’t help either. It can be much colder in a cab than you think. If you are going long distances in the winter, it might be well worth putting in one of our nest dog beds to help keeping the draught out. This is maybe considered using luxury dog beds because all in all dogs don’t usually spend a lot of time in transit, but you don’t have to buy nest dog beds ONLY for the car, you can put your house beds in the car for the long journey although having dedicated car dog beds is an easier option.
